The Biden administration announced on Thursday the expansion of its monkeypox vaccination and treatment options.

This includes increasing extra 1.8 million doses the Jynneos monkeypox vaccine to supply.

The Health and Human Services is also launching a new program that aims to make vaccines accessible and involving at-risk communities in large events that draw LGBTQ communities.

The administration is also doing the pre-positioning of doses of an antiviral treatment to those who are positive for the virus.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports it has more than 13,500 cases of monkeypox have been recorded across the United States.

There has been no any single death reported across the US.

The majority of cases of monkeypox during the current outbreak are connected to sexual activities.

Monkeypox can be spread to anyone in close contact typically skin-to skin and intimate contact, which includes sexual intimacy or hugging, massaging, or kissing.
