In 1987, Red Bull was successfully launched in Austria.

Red Bull soon became the world's best-selling energy drink and Mateschitz was able to amass a fortune estimated at $25 billion.

Matschitz built a Formula 1 team based on his wealth and entered F1 in 2001 with Sauber.

He then bought the Jaguar team and renamed it Red Bull Racing.
